Copyright and Tshirt designs

 Today in Cybersmart we learned about copyright law and attribution.

To use someone else's work you have to have their permission or it must be free to use.

For this task we designed 3 different tshirts:

1. The first one was an image from Google Images. It will not be able to be printed because of copyright.
2. The second one was from the Explore tool. It could be printed, but only with attribution.
3. The third one we created ourselves, which means we could print it if we wanted to :)

Practicing our Quality Blog Comments for the Film Festival

Today in Cybersmart we were practicing our Quality Blog commenting for the film festival next term. 

We were practicing writing comments that are Positive, Thoughtful, and helpful!

We colour code our comments to help us write them.

Cross Country

Congratulations to Isabella who came 1st in the Year 4 girls' race and Khittamai who came 4th in the Year 4 boys' race. I am very proud of all my students who participated with a great attitude and gave it a go.

 

Maori Language Week - Kapa Haka

 Very proud of the students who are in Kapa Haka and performed at Friday's assembly for Maori Language Week.

Team 3 Fun Day

 Team 3 had a fun day where we watched the movie "Luck," danced, painted Titi Torea, wore our pj's and did karoke. We had a fabulous, fun time.

Ki O Rahi

 This term Room 20 has been learning to play Ki O Rahi. Room 20 has some very sporty students who love to play this competitive game. 

Movie for PENN

 It was Room 20's turn to showcase on PENN this week. This is our movie.

Tidying up our drive

 It's time to tidy up our Google Drives.  Rather than get the mop and vacuum cleaner out for this we have are going to make sure we have good routines for naming them in the first place. 

When making a copy, always make sure that you delete the "Copy of" part and replace it with "your name". Then make sure you place it in the right folder.

Then if you alway do that, you will never never need to tidy your drive. However, if you do sometimes make a mistake. It's a good idea to clean them up and time to time. That's what we did today!

Making a Pendant

During reading time, we learnt about following instructions to make the salt dough and then making the pendants. We had fun.

Cybersmart - Learning to Use Google Maps

 Mr Goodwin comes in each Tuesday to teach Cybersmart - That is how to use different apps to help us learn. We used Google Maps and street view photos to explain our favourite places in GI.

Room 20 had a busy term with their new teacher. 

Cybersmart: Creating Posters

Today in Cybersmart we created posters that represented us in positive way! We used Google Draw and the drawing tools to design our poster the way we wanted it to look. We had to think hard about whether the things we wanted to share were appropriate and good to share about ourselves. It was really fun!
